Jim has been a member of Hope Church since June 2001. He was raised in a Christian family in the Midwest and moved to the Tampa area with his family in 1966. In May, 1986 Jim made a profession of faith in Christ as an adult while praying with the chairman of the Tampa Christian Businessmen’s Committee (CBMC) in his office. Jim has served in various roles with CBMC and the Tampa Christian Twelve Group over his career as a business owner.
In 2003 Jim was ordained as an Elder with Hope after the church was initially chartered with the ARP. He served 5 years as an Elder and retired as an active Elder in 2008. Jim was reinstated as a Ruling Elder with Hope in January, 2016. He served on the property search committee and was chairman of the building committee for the building of the first phase of our sanctuary building we now worship in. Jim has also served on the church finance committee and was chairman of our Free to Grow initiative to pay down our property loan.
Jim is married to Barbara, our Younger Hope Filled Kids teacher and parents of two adult children, Ben and Rebecca and have one grandson, Charles. Jim and Barb look forward to new and continued service with Hope in the years ahead as our Lord leads.
