Tom Edwards

Tom is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Christian counselor as well as the Associate Pastor and Youth Ministry Leader at Hope Church. Tom has an AA degree in Engineering from Palm Beach Community College, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bell Haven College and a Master’s degree in Divinity as well as a Masters of Arts in Marriage Family Therapy from the Reformed Theological Seminary in Mississippi. Tom is currently pursuing a PHD with the International University for Graduate Studies, out of the UK.

Besides being a Licensed as a Therapist since September 1995, he is also Certified with the Prepare/Enrich Program, trained and certified in E.M.D.R. and has been trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and School Crisis. He has worked with Adolescents since 1979 and was trained as an adolescent counselor through Opportunity House, a 1st thru 3rd time youth offenders program located in West Palm Beach. He worked as a house counselor for 1 year with that program. He has been working with children since 1991 and has performed assessments and provided counseling for children for Hillsborough Kids Incorporated. He is a member of 6 major organizations, the AACC. CAPS, AAMFT, FAMFT, APA., and FACCT. He is a Board Certified Professional Counselor with the APA.

Tom was born and raised in South Florida. He became a Christian in his third year of college where he was planning a career in aerospace engineering. God had different plans for Tom’s life. We are very fortunate to have Tom as the Youth Ministry leader for the Hyper Drive Youth program along with his lovely wife Rhonda.

Tom and Rhonda have two children in the youth program. Hyper Drive gives Tom a great outlet to enjoy and share his hobbies (usually sports involving a ball) such as softball, basketball, football, and racquetball. He also enjoys diving, fishing, paintball and airsoft as well as building and tinkering at things.
